Wool is one of the most widely used and valued natural fibers in the world. It has an extremely ancient origin, but it was not until the Romans that the first rudimentary techniques for processing this fiber began to be developed. The fabric is obtained after several fundamental operations: first shearing the animal, then washing and finally degreasing, resulting in a white, ivory, brown or black fiber, depending on the animal from which it was obtained.

The properties of wool change depending on the animal from which it comes: various breeds of sheep and goats, alpacas or dromedaries provide a yarn with different qualities and colors. More generally, the wool is an excellent heat-insulating and hygroscopic material, proving to be an essential product especially during colder periods. The natural characteristics of the fiber make this product soft, comfortable and elastic, with great versatility.
